The love of my life walked out of my door going on three years ago. One and a half years ago, he showed up on my doorstep to tell my family and myself goodbye as he departed for the journey of Military life; his calling. Eight months ago, God decided he needed to be elsewhere; and he was injured and came back home. military medical discharge. Three months ago, he showed up on my doorstep, took me out, spoke about all of his feelings towards me and our past; and started getting closer and closer to me every single day.

There’s only been a handful of days I haven’t seen him, only a handful that I haven’t kissed him hello and goodbye.

God times everything for a reason. God makes everything happen for a reason. I knew where I belonged. I knew God had made this man for me and I, for him. It just took time. Who knows where we would have ended up had we stayed together during the duration our relationship was over.

I am so blessed to have this man in my life, and I know that God has great plans for each of us as individuals, and together as a whole. Even though i never understood it whenever our relationship first ended, and even a while after that, I never lost my faith in knowing that GOD had a plan for me. A person for me. A life for me; filled in his glory and name. So during the struggles of trying to grasp straws and pull myself together; GOD gave me friends like no one else will ever be blessed with.

Rachel, to hear me complain and moan. Nick to let me cry and hug me. Alex to distract my days away by keeping me busy. Matthew for showing me the never wavering faith of GOD and humor in all things possible. He also blessed me with a new job, one that required me to stay so physically and mentally exhausted; I couldn’t possibly be emotionally troubled as well.

Then, after I summoned up all the pieces of me that I felt I had left; I just moved on. Plain and simple. I locked away the feeling of regret and sorrow somewhere far far away in some distant land, and I was determined to be happy. I went after the furthest thing from my love possible; and you know what? I’m glad I did. This fellow, CB, was loving, kind, caring, honest… wonderful; exactly what the doctor ordered for my bruised and tender bleeding heart.

CB and I dated for fourteen glorious months. We experienced all sorts of new things together; him, for example- the joyous world of C-ville; and me- Cliff diving (with him watching from afar, and I quote “hell no I won’t jump off that”) in Corbin. I learned a lot, I have a lot of new memories and one amazingly beautiful kitten out of it all; and a good friend. We still chit chat here and there about nothing too important. Work, school, work, work, work, our little Lily; rarely we grace ourselves memories from the past- but it’s always pleasant when we do. There are no hard feelings, the breakup an agreement. We were a beautiful two season couple. The winter months had nothing on us- we loved to cuddle, watch movies, spend time with our families, all the indoor things… but the warmer months, as they are fast approaching and practically upon us- made us open our eyes a little wider to what we were missing from one another. I, the outdoor, swimming, biking, hiking, boating, lake person to he, the indoor, quiet, movies, air conditioning lover… We broke away and started to walk down our own paths.

God blessed me with people during CB and my relationship as well. One of the best people I could have ever met, I believe, is the beautiful and charming Melea. Strange name from the start, she was interesting. I never really spoke to her much at the beginning of my memory of her- she sat four seats down from me in BIO 102 and was the quietest little chick ever. Then she popped up in my ASL class and that was that. She has listened to me complain over things with CB and my past with the love of my life, and my current affairs with the one man I will marry one day. Without her, I would surely be in a different state. She’s quite phenomenal, for sure.

Today, I sit and I watch my lovely kitten Lily scamper back and forth across my room as I sit and take the phone call letting me know the love of my life has arrived safely at work; and that he loves me and will talk to me soon. I send goofy pictures to Melea about everything and nothing. I still moan and complain to Rachel, distract my days away with Alex, listen to GODs word through Matthew. And a newfound promotion at work (and yes, it is mentally exhausting). But there’s one more addition to this list of closeness now. Him. The love of my life stands by me and is all of these people wrapped into one at some points during my trials and tribulations.

I have been so blessed with the people that have graced me by calling me their friend. And I am so in AWE at Gods plans for me. I look forward to the future now more than I ever have before. Holding the hand of the man I love, who came back to me as the old saying goes.

Just have faith. Whats meant to be will always find a way
